About the RoleApten is an omni-channel AI agent that automates sales and marketing conversations with millions of leads across SMS, voice, and email.Apten communicates exactly like a human — dynamically switching between channels, personalizing every follow-up, and proactively using tools (CRMs, schedulers, lead systems) in-conversation.In the last 6 months, we’ve become profitable, averaged over 30% MoM growth, and partnered with enterprise customers in industries like healthcare, education, and home services.We’re now scaling rapidly and looking for our second full stack software engineer to join us. You’ll work directly with the founding team to build core product experiences and infrastructure — from high-throughput message pipelines to voice bots, workflow builders, context management systems, AI-driven orchestration, and self-improvement systems.This is an opportunity to own critical systems and shape the product and culture from the ground up.What You’ll DoOwn and ship core features across the stack — from React frontends to AWS-based APIs, Lambdas, and microservicesWork directly with enterprises to build AI agents, and the data flywheels needed to give them proper contextBuild scalable infra for messaging, AI inference, and automation at high volumeExperimental work - turn Apten into a self-improving, high-performance sales/marketing agent. 100% ownership, 0 bureaucracyWhat We’re Looking ForCuriosity and drive to figure things out — whether debugging a scaling issue or building something completely new3+ years of experience building and shipping production software (or equivalent skill)Experience with TypeScript, React, and AWS (Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, SQS, CDK, etc.)Strong product sense — able to make pragmatic tradeoffs, prioritize for impact, and ship fastComfortable working across the stack (frontend → backend → infra)Previous startup or early-stage experience a plusBonus PointsExperience working with LLMsExperience with event-driven architectures and async workflowsStrong interest in AI-powered automation and conversational systems
