Custodian (Part-Time) 2nd Shift

Position:Custodian (Part-Time) 2nd ShiftLocation: District WideReports To: OperationsSupervisorSchedule: 28.75 Hours per week. Flexible schedule options are available.Hourly Wage: $15.66 or more dependent on experienceBenefits:Employer-paid sick days, personal days, and holidays. Advancement potential Position SummaryCustodians provide custodial services at assigned site(s); ensure an attractive, sanitary, and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors; perform a variety of special cleaning operations; and assist in preparing facilities for classroom activities and building events. Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesClean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers, wash windows Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and proceduresFollow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed May set up facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc. May strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpetsResponsible for landscaping and snow removal as necessaryResponsible for the security of the building during shiftsOther duties assigned by the building administrator or Operations supervisorEmployment QualificationsEDUCATION: High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) EXPERIENCE: Preferred but not required; Working knowledge of custodial work, including cleaning methods and materials and the use of custodial equipment equivalent to that gained in at least one year of experience or a combination of education and experiencePrevious experience working in a sanitation, custodial, or maintenance position is preferred, but not requiredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None Physical DemandsAbility to stand for extended periodsAbility to bend, twist, stoop, reach and kneelAbility to work at heights, ascend and descend laddersAbility to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversationAbility to hear and understand speechAbility to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 poundsWork EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
