The role reports to the COO and involves leading the accounting team, managing month-end close, and serving as the financial backbone for a fast-moving company.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nMonth-end and year-end close : Ensure accurate, timely close, accruals, and reconciliations.\r\nTeam leadership : Lead, develop, and scale the accounting team.\r\nInternal controls : Design, document, test, and continuously improve controls.\r\nBalance sheet stewardship : Maintain reconciled, current, and explainable accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash, and fixed assets.\r\nGAAP compliance & audit readiness : Follow GAAP and resolve audit findings promptly.\r\nTrusted data : Deliver accurate, consistently defined financial and operational data to support decisions.\r\nInvestor reporting : Prepare property-level financials that are clean, reconciled, and distribution-ready.\r\nWhat We're Looking For\r\nYou are a technical accounting expert, meticulous under pressure, who builds systems and fixes root causes. You lead by example, maintain calm and thoroughness, and own outcomes without deflection.\r\nQualifications\r\nCPA required (active).\r\n5+ years in accounting, with at least 2 years in a controller or senior accounting leadership role.\r\nDemonstrated experience with month-end close, balance-sheet reconciliation, and internal controls.\r\nExperience in property management or real-estate accounting a strong plus.\r\nAppFolio or comparable property management software experience preferred.\r\nProven ability to lead and develop accounting staff.\r\nExperience supporting audit processes (internal or external).\r\nEqual Opportunity Statement\r\nReal Property Management Express is an equal opportunity employer.
