The primary purpose of this position is to recruit, train, and coordinate the activities of tutors, with a primary focus on STEM disciplines while also providing support for other subjects, with the exception of writing.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\n\nSupport the Dean with oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Tutor Center employees and supplemental programming;\nRecruit and train work-study student tutors;\nSchedule tutors and ensure sufficient hours and staffing for Tutoring Center.\nAssist the Dean as a liaison to faculty to ensure sufficient tutoring coverage in requested subject areas;\nAddress student complaints and provide appropriate referrals to internal and/or external resources that serve student needs;\nMaintain Tutoring Services communications materials (signage, brochures, posters, flyers, web pages, forms and other materials) and represent the Tutor Center;\nAssist the Dean with required tutor trainings and presentations;\nAct as a liaison with college departments to provide information on the Tutor Center Program and to discuss student problems;\nCounsel students concerning academic problems and student/tutor relationships;\nPerform related duties as required.\nQualifications\n\nA Bachelor's Degree AND one year of secondary or college-level teaching or advising with knowledge of minorities and disadvantaged or deprived persons.
