{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"87aa02e856b8d8ba1225fddf","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/87aa02e856b8d8ba1225fddf","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/87aa02e856b8d8ba1225fddf","title":"Sample Handler/Material Handler","description":"Management of samples from receiving, internal distribution through lab testing to dispatch dispositioning using database software and basic Microsoft programs such as MS Word and Excel.\nChecking samples against sample requirement and raising any issues to Project team.\nEnsure samples are managed within quality process and in compliance with according the UL Quality and accreditation process requirements.\nWorking with teams to ensure samples are ready and available for test start internal customers and stored in the correct location.\nCommunicating and guiding internal customers on sample return via phone and email.\nSupport laboratory, engineering and shipping/receiving teams.\nMay also be responsible for maintenance of the warehouse.\nIntegrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.\nAssist and trains staff as directed.\nMay assist leadership in the development of training as necessary.\nMay develop or assist in the creation of reports and metrics as necessary.\nMaintain an organized, safe, clean and productive work area.\nConducts periodic inventories of sample storage areas.\nReports any lost, missing or damaged samples and assists in the research and resolution.\nRead and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalency required.\nExperience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, or similar highly preferred.\nAbility to use Microsoft Outlook and Excel.\nAbility to work with hand and small power tools such as saws and drills in a safe manner.\nPhysical demands include, but are not limited to, standing, reaching, stooping/bending, walking and lifting/carrying objects up to 60 lbs.\nStrong communication skills.\nAbility to work independently.\nForklift experience preferred.\nWhat you'll experience working at UL:\nMission: For UL, corporate and social responsibility isn’t new.
