Must lead and manage program\nteams comprised of matrixed staff including technical leads, engineers, and designers to\nmeet all project objectives on schedule and within budget. Regularly report program\nstatus and metrics to Company management team. Coach and mentor program team\nmembers and help maintain a positive environment and one that enables excellence in\nall operations, not just program management. Must have a general understanding,\nappreciation, and support for specialty engineering (manufacturing, quality, reliability,\nsafety, etc.) requirements. Assist with generating new business leads and winning new\nbusiness for product development and/or production of product. Leads applicable\nproposal efforts and related contract execution. Must demonstrate outstanding attention\nto detail and critical thinking abilities. Self-directed with positive attitude toward helping\nthe entire program team succeed to include helping colleagues across functional areas,\nas required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required within the\nCompany and with the external customer. Good situational awareness and an ability to\nprovide appropriate response(s) are a must. A can-do attitude is also a must.\n\nEducational Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in management and/or engineering or equivalent and 5 years\nof experience as a program manager or equivalent preferably on Department of\nDefense (DoD) programs. An advanced technical and/or management degree is\npreferred.\n\nEssential Job Functions:\nManage multiple projects simultaneously to achieve required performance on\nschedule and within budget\nProvide leadership, management, and mentorship to program team members\nAccomplish program requirements using program matrix management\nEngage and manage subcontractors and associated program scope\nDevelop detailed program plans, budgets, and schedules and maintain them\nProvide direction and support for all program functions\nServe as project/task lead for efforts as required\nRegularly report program status within the Company and with customers\nEvaluate business processes and work with Company staff to develop and\nimplement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness\n\nEffective writing - technical reports and proposals\n\nCreate and maintain positive customer relations – ensure a high quality of\nservice and resolution of customer identified issues in a timely manner\n\nAssist in developing new business opportunities\nProvide regular and timely performance feedback to program stakeholders\nOther job functions and duties as assigned by management.\n\nJob Requirements:\n\nProven leadership and team management skills\nGood organization skills and multitasking abilities – able to effectively manage\nmultiple programs simultaneously and prioritize appropriately\n\nAbility to accomplish program goals, objectives and requirements within budget\nand on schedule\n\nEnsure customer satisfaction\nBroad and extensive engineering-related experience, preferably including\nmechanical/mechanism design\n\nAbility to use SolidWorks® for design review and assessment is a plus.\nProven interpersonal skills, public speaking, and persuasive ability\nStrong project financial management background\nMust excel at conflict resolution and de-escalation to preclude comprising\neffective and efficient teamwork\n\nExcellent problem solving skills using sound critical thinking\nOutstanding attention to detail\nOutstanding situational awareness and written and verbal communication skills\nDemonstrated ability to effectively prepare complex proposals in a timely manner\nFamiliarity with DoD contracting, development, and culture\nFunctional with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project\nCapable of travel 10% to 15% of time\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe employee is required to talk, see and hear. The employee is required to sit for\nextended periods of time and use their hands and fingers, and computer keyboard. The\nemployee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands.\nVision abilities required by this job include close vision. Some light lifting, up to 25 lbs, is\nrequired.
