Job Description Secret shoppers (or mystery shoppers) are independent contractors hired to anonymously evaluate businesses by posing as regular customers. They assess customer service, cleanliness, product quality, and staff compliance with procedures, then submit detailed reports and photos to companies to help improve operations. Key Responsibilities and Activities:In-Person Visits: Dining at restaurants, shopping at retail stores, or visiting car dealerships to observe, take photos, and evaluate the experience.Customer Service Evaluation: Engaging with staff, asking specific questions, or making complaints to test employee knowledge and conflict resolution skills.Compliance Checks: Ensuring employees follow company policies, such as checking identification for alcohol sales or displaying specific marketing materials.Online/Remote Assessments: Testing website checkout processes, calling customer service, or evaluating app usability.Reporting: Submitting detailed, honest reports through online portals about their experience.
