You will use various instructional design theories and analysis techniques for adult learners to develop new (full lifecycle) or revise existing courses and advanced computer-assisted learning systems using a systematic approach to training development and will use the latest web-development and graphic arts tools in order to leverage technology and keep the Laboratory's training on par with industry trends. This position is in the Safety Education & Training Office (SETO) within the Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) Directorate.\nPre-Employment Drug Test This is a Flexible Term appointment with full-time funding expected through September 30, 2029.\nThis position may offer a hybrid schedule, which includes the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week, after a probationary period. The specifics of the hybrid schedule, including the exact number of days required in the office and virtual work options may vary based on the needs of the team and the organization.\nYou will Develop, review and evaluate the ESH learning systems suite of courses by applying effective instructional design principles in accordance with regulatory requirements.\nFormulate Structured Job-Task Analyses to ensure ESH courses are developed using a systematic approach to training and extend ESH course assessments to Levels 1-4.\nIdentify, recommend, and execute new ideas or methods for enhancing course curriculum in collaboration with ESH Subject Matter Experts and SETO Training Team members.\nDesign course goals, objectives, course content including text, scripts, graphics, video, audio, test questions, instructor guides, participant materials and supporting documentation to engage students in the learning process, encourage course participation and meet the requirements of the adult learner.\nWrite course narration scripts, scenarios and simulation required for web-based course content using a systematic approach to training. In addition, sync course narration audio files to the appropriate course.\nApply course development software skills in the development of web-based course and ensure successful course publishing/product is delivered under established schedules.\nInterpret regulations and determine corresponding training requirements.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nMust be eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). See Additional Information section below for details.\nBachelor’s degree in educational/instructional design field, computer information systems or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience.\nExperience implementing instructional technology models and designs and the application of adult learning theory, web design and web-based training interface design.\nExperience in the use of simulations, interactivity, hypermedia and tutorials in training applications.\nExperience in the development of online and/or computer-based educational/training courses using a variety of tools and methodologies as well as experience working with and advanced knowledge of technology used to support training in both the online and classroom environments.\nExperience with course development software applications (e.g., Storyline, Articulate, etc.).\nEffective verbal and written communication, interpersonal, facilitation and collaboration skills necessary to effectively write, present, explain, advise and communicate complex information to all levels of personnel.\nEffective organizational skills with detail orientation necessary to handle multiple complex tasks in a demanding environment with conflicting priorities, tight and changing deadlines, and frequent interruptions while providing high-level customer service and good follow-through.\nExperience working independently and in a team environment with a broad cross-section of people and organizations, managing complex projects, and meeting schedules.\nQualifications We Desire Working knowledge of UC/LLNL safety policies and procedures.\nWorking knowledge of LLNL web-based testing (WBT)/survey system and institutional WBT server configurations.\nExperience applying presentation skills in an interactive classroom environment.\nPay Range:$114,900 – $140,712 Annually\nThis is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting; pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage.An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs\nPosition Information This is a Flexible Term appointment, which is for a definite period not to exceed six years.If final candidate is a Career Indefinite employee, Career Indefinite status may be maintained (should funding allow).\nWhy Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory?
