STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES is the in‑house engineering business line of Structural Group.\n\nSkills\n\nTakes initiative to pull the team together to accomplish the common goal of delivering the project the customer expects.\n\nCan present design issues to customer and supplier.\n\nStrong oral and written communication skills to resolve design issues persuasively with subordinates, subcontractors, and clients.\n\nCommunicates in a clear, precise and respectful manner with team.\n\nAbility to use and manage Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Mathcad.\n\nAbility to independently develop models and perform analysis/design software such as ETABS, SAFE, and SAP2000.\n\nKnowledge of design and construction requirements for prestressed and post‑tensioned concrete.\n\nExperience – Field – Required/Preferred\n5+ years – Engineering – Required.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n\nKnows how to coordinate work with other engineers on the team.\n\nDevelops and presents industry technical papers.\n\nFamiliar with business lines within the company.\n\nKnows how to organize, plan, budget and schedule design and research activities.\n\nKnows how to perform wind and seismic analyses, and related structural design.\n\nUnderstands standard contract requirements and scope as they relate to work.\n\nUnderstands standard engineering work planning, scheduling and cost estimating.\n\nBasic understanding of PT systems.\n\nBasic understanding of repair and strengthening techniques.\n\nUnderstand the concepts of the shoring and the advanced load alteration design.\n\nEssential Safety Duties\n\nPromotes 24/7 Safety Culture and exhibits a Safety 24/7 attitude in all situations.\n\nIs extremely safety conscious in all situations.\n\nSets an example for others by demonstrating that safety is a core value.\n\nWears all Personal Protection Equipment required by safety specifications when visiting jobsite/shop.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nAble to move about the office.\n\nSitting for extended periods of time.\n\nDexterity of hand and fingers to operate a computer, and other office equipment.\n\nHas visual acuity to see items clearly and sharply and to recognize small detail.\n\nAble to speak and hear detailed information through oral communication.\n\nSpecial Requirements\n\nAbility to travel as needed to project sites.\n\nFlexibile with work hours.\n\nPossess valid driver's license in order to operate rental cars when traveling for company business.\n\nWilling to work at heights up to 650 feet off the ground.\n\nStructural Technologies is proud of a company culture that promotes 24/7 safety and quality.
