By integrating radar validation, weather-resistant UAS, and advanced numerical weather modeling, Rainmaker is helping make water more abundant.As Rainmaker’s Director of Industrial Partnerships, you will lead the commercial adoption of precipitation enhancement services across critical industries that rely on reliable water access and snowpack-fed resources. This role will focus on building partnerships with operators in mining, oil & gas, data centers, hydroelectric power, and other large-scale industrial sectors across the Western United States and other water-stressed regions.You’ll translate Rainmaker’s proven cloud seeding technology into compelling business value for industrial operators, building a pipeline of revenue-generating partnerships with companies whose production, uptime, and long-term operations are directly tied to water availability.What You’ll Do• Identify and qualify prospects across mining, oil & gas, hydroelectric, and other industrial sectors where operations, production, or capital planning are significantly impacted by precipitation, reservoir levels, and basin water yield• Build and manage a pipeline of partnership opportunities from initial outreach through contract execution across multiple industries and geographies• Structure commercial agreements including service contracts, outcome-based pricing tied to precipitation or basin yield, shared-cost models, and consortium funding arrangements• Engage industrial operators, utilities, independent power producers, and major water users as customers and co-investors in precipitation enhancement initiatives• Partner with Rainmaker’s Government Affairs team to identify public-private partnership opportunities tied to watershed, reservoir, and water security funding• Build coalitions of industrial operators, utilities, water districts, and basin stakeholders that collectively benefit from increased precipitation and shared watershed investment• Develop strategic partnerships with industry associations, trade groups, and ESG-focused organizations to position Rainmaker and cloud seeding as a sustainability and water security solution• Organize site visits, demonstrations, and technical briefings for prospective partners and investors at Rainmaker project sitesQualifications• 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales serving mining, oil & gas, power generation, heavy industry, or large-scale infrastructure clients• Proven track record sourcing, structuring, and closing complex B2B or B2G partnerships, ideally within industrial operations, energy infrastructure, environmental services, or resource management• Strong understanding of how water and precipitation impact industrial operations, including hydropower reservoir management, industrial processing water needs, extraction operations, cooling systems, and water regulation frameworks• Familiarity with Western water economics, water rights, basin hydrology, drought dynamics, and water management institutions is strongly preferred• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, cross-functional startup environment with both strategic and hands-on responsibilities• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees in business, economics, engineering, water resources, environmental science, or related fields are considered an asset• Willingness to travel approximately 50% to industrial sites, operator headquarters, and industry conferencesAdditional InformationOnsite El Segundo, CAWillingness and ability to travel (approximately 50% or more) in support of legislative sessions, stakeholder engagements, and project site visits$150,000 + commission (OTE $300,000)Health - 100% employee, 70% for dependents401K - 4% match after 1 yearUnlimited PTOEquity: 10-15% of total comp
