The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with production, engineering, quality, and global teams to improve manufacturing performance, support increased production volumes, and successfully introduce new products and processes.\n\nLocation: Devens, MA\nJob Title: Extrusion/Injection Molding Plastics Engineer\n\nPay Range: $75,000 - $105,000\nEmployment Type: Full-Time/ Permanent\n\nResponsibilities\n\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, efficiency, and manufacturing performance.\n\nDevelop, optimize, and standardize extrusion and injection molding processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment.\n\nPartner with local and global engineering teams to duplicate and standardize manufacturing processes and equipment.\n\nDevelop and execute capital equipment requests to support manufacturing expansion.\n\nWork closely with Production to identify opportunities to improve product quality, throughput, and efficiency.\n\nDevelop process controls, procedures, and documentation designed to reduce scrap, rework, and other manufacturing waste.\n\nSupport new product development and introduction activities to ensure manufacturing requirements are incorporated into new processes.\n\nDesign and improve manufacturing equipment and work cells with safety and ergonomics in mind.\n\nCoordinate the procurement and implementation of jigs, fixtures, assembly aids, tools, and gauges.\n\nProvide troubleshooting, fault-finding, and technical support for manufacturing equipment and processes.\n\nAssist with investigating and resolving production issues and customer complaints.\n\nServe as a technical resource and leader within the manufacturing department.\n\nDevelop cost justifications and recommendations for new equipment, processes, and productivity improvements.\n\nPerform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions for manufacturing-related issues.\n\nSupport Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes and ensure appropriate implementation.\n\nDevelop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and visual aids.\n\nSupport compliance with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\n\nMinimum of 5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience or equivalent relevant experience.\n\nStrong experience with extrusion and/or injection molding processes.\n\nExperience working within a manufacturing environment, preferably involving assembly and testing operations.\n\nExperience utilizing Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor and maintain process consistency.\n\nExperience analyzing manufacturing equipment and processes and documenting process improvements or modifications.\n\nKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing and workflow optimization methodologies.\n\nExperience with 2D and 3D CAD software.\n\nExperience with FMEA, DFMA, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).\n\nSix Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred.\n\nExperience implementing and analyzing quality tools and metrics.\n\nDemonstrated experience participating in or leading Continuous Improvement initiatives.\n\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities while maintaining manufacturing milestones and production uptime.\n\n** If interested, please apply directly to this job posting!**\n\nPay Details: $75,000.00 to $105,000.00 per year\n\nBenefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
