We are seeking an Entry Level candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.\n\nThis is a full-time position with a full benefit package listed below that includes opportunities for professional growth, direct hire by our customers, and additional opportunities within our own organization.\n\nEntry Level Mechanical Design Engineer\n\nThe selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff in the development of large diesel or gas engine sub-systems. Work will include product design, product improvement, cost reduction, and product health in large engine systems. The work will be highly collaborative with both internal customers and external suppliers.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nProduct development in the diesel and natural gas engine industry.\nFocusing on component and systems validation of diesel or gas engines.\nBuild support for engines in the oil and gas industries.\nWorking with component support teams, validation teams, factory operations, application and installation and customer service teams as needed to ensure robust product solutions.\nWorking with internal teams to source components to new foundries. Travel to visit suppliers.\nManage product quality projects, defining root cause and solution implementation.\nManage Continuous Product Improvement projects using Six Sigma principles.\nCommunication with suppliers and customers on product selection and integration.\nUse of Creo and Teamcenter to support 3-D Modeling of components.\n\nRequirements\n\nBSME, BSMET or equivalent degree with experience.\nEntry level candidates and experience candidates will be considered.\nStrong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience or hobbies.\nExcellent communication both written and verbal.\nDemonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments.\nStrong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to thrive in a team environment.\nAbility to travel (less than 10% of time).\n\nDesired Attributes\n\nExperience with the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process.\nExperience in 3-D Modeling Software; Creo preferred\nPrevious experience with Teamcenter or other PDM software.\nExperience with manufacturing processes.\nDesign experience or exposure to off-road mobile equipment or engines.\nExperience with shop or factory support.\nDesire to work in an engineering environment focusing on robust & cost effective design.\n\nVisa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.\n\nPay Range: $65,000-$75,000 – Commensurate with experience\n\nAbout RFA Engineering\n\nRFA Engineering has provided product development and engineering services to industry leading customers since 1943.
