Primary responsibility is to assist the teaching staff, which includes the following duties:Prepare classroom activities and the classroom environmentAssist with the implementation of curriculum as neededSupervise children at all timesHelp ensure indoor/outdoor safetyOversee the daily nap routineCommunicate with parents at pick-up time when neededInteract with children appropriatelyReport inappropriate behavior of staff, parents, and on-site consultants to the appropriate supervisor.Assist center administration staff as assigned by the site manager (e.g. checking and opening doors, answering phones, etc.)Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or site managerII. The secondary role is to assist teachers and/or center aide with kitchen duties as needed. These duties include:Receive food from the driver and check delivery against the driver sheetCheck and record the temperature of food and foods served, and reheating as neededCheck and record refrigerator/freezer temperaturesPrepare meals for each classClean up and wash dishesMaintain a sanitation logQualifications: ECE STEP is looking for experienced classroom personnel who can attend to the care and education of young children in a high-quality setting to foster their school readiness and establish a foundation for success in school and life.Experience working with children 0 to 5 years old preferredNo units in Child Development/Early Childhood Education are required to startHold a food handler permit currently or have the plan to apply for it upon hireAbility to take initiative, but also to accept direction and seek guidance appropriatelyAbility to maintain the highest levels of Health, Safety & Supervision of childrenLight to moderate lifting (up to approximately 50 lbs) is required, such as lifting a child, chair, table, etc.Other Requirements:Physical Exam and TB Clearance Every 2 YearsCriminal Background ClearanceChild Abuse Index ClearanceAdherence to the Confidentiality AgreementAdherence to the Child Abuse Reporting MandateWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to change position; to sit, stand, walk, climb or balance; to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; to bend, twist and reach with hands and arms; and to pick up childrenLight to moderate lifting (up to approximately 50 lbs) is required, such as lifting a child, chair, table, etc.Adhere to the Code of Conduct and all other internal policies and proceduresAccountable for the health, safety, and supervision of all children and familiesCOVID-19 Vaccination Requirement: Proof of COVID-19 vaccination record and Bivalent boosterCompensation: $18.75 - $23.00 per hour.
