This position will be responsible for completing tasks personally and supervising a crew. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.\n\nAutonomy and Decision-Making: Makes decisions on routine matters, provides recommendations to supervisor and refers all exceptions to supervisor.\nCareer Path: Aptitude Superintendent 1\nKey Role Responsibilities - Core\n\nAPTITUDE FOREMAN FAMILY - CORE\n\nManages small crews of employees delivering Intelligent Integration work.\nReads and understands blueprints, specifications, and drawings.\nFunctions as an interface with construction operations team, various trade partners, and customers.\nPlans and schedules designated work scopes and orders appropriate materials to ensure cost and schedule are maintained.\nProvides oversight and responsible for performing a variety of technical installations including cable installation and termination, fiber optic splicing and terminations, feeder cross connectivity, communication room buildout, communication room patching from switch to patch panel/LIU as needed and required on specific scopes of work.\nFunctions as a subject matter expert in one or more of the various technical systems and integrates the connections between the systems including cable, fire alarm, security, audio visual, building automation, network infrastructure.\nTracks and reports labor hours.\nMaintains proper care of tools and equipment necessary to support technical installations specific to a project.\nLeads and monitors safety and security procedures within the crew.\nEstablishes crew sizes that align with production goals.\nDocuments key information such as activities, productions and crew sizes.\nCommunicates with suppliers and coordinates delivery of supplies to jobsite.\nUnderstands and maintains established quality levels associated with duties.\nSupports project QA/QC planning to ensure quality for assigned tasks.\nParticipates in all safety activities such as toolbox talks, job hazard analysis, job site analysis and SIMS (Site Information Management System) reporting.\nCreates and implements safety plans and ensures compliance through use of training, toolbox talks and communication with safety representatives.\nProvides on-the-job guidance and willingly shares expertise in order to support team member learning and development.\nCoordinates inspections for assigned scope of work.\nCreates, communicates, monitors and achieves crew production goals.\nKey Role Responsibilities - Additional Core\n\nN/A\n\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nAbility to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner\nCommunication skills, verbal and written – Intermediate\nProficiency in MS Office\nKnowledge of project management software\nStrong knowledge in one area of the various technical systems such as cable, fire alarm, security, audio visual, building automation, network infrastructure\nKnowledge of organizational structure and available resources\nAbility to apply Lean process and philosophy\nKnowledge of self-perform and labor productivity\nKnowledge of specific trades and scopes of work\nKnowledge of the means and methods of construction management\nKnowledge of layout skill – Intermediate\nKnowledge of crane flagging and rigging\nAbility to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications\nAcquire knowledge of productivity rates\nAbility to assess and optimize project productivity\nAbility to lead crews and achieve production goals\nAbility to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or GED (Required)\nVocational/Technical degree in related field (Preferred)\nExperience\n1+ years commercial construction experience\n2+ years field supervision experience\nBICSI certification or 4 years experience in cable pilling (Preferred)\nWorking Environment\nMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds\nMay require periods of travel\nMay be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold)\nMust be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs\nFrequent activity: Standing, Walking, Climbing, Bending, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling\nOccasional activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen\nBenefits Information\n\nThe benefits package aligned to this position is Professional Non-Union.\n\nThis role is expected to accept applications for at least three business days and may continue to be posted until a qualified applicant is selected or the position has been cancelled.\n\nJE Dunn Construction is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
