The Material Handler is capable of handling all aspects of shipping, receiving and storage of material.\r\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\r\n\r\n\r\nUnloads, stores and places raw material for processing. Verifies that the material is correct as ordered, follows practices and procedures as outlined in SSAB's ISO programs.\r\n\r\n\r\nOff-loads material from the production line, places material into staging areas. Fills customer orders from stock, ensures material is properly identified and verifies quality as per ASTM or customer specifications.\r\n\r\n\r\nLoads material onto trucks or rail cars, verifies material is correct as stated on customer's order.\r\n\r\n\r\nResponsible for daily crane inspections.\r\n\r\n\r\nFollows all safety rules and regulations.\r\n\r\n\r\nOffice presence\r\n\r\n\r\nRegular and reliable attendance required\r\n\r\n\r\nQUALIFICATIONS\r\nCompetencies and Experience\r\nRequired\r\n\r\nPrevious experience in a manufacturing environment and operation of overhead cranes.\r\n\r\nEducation\r\nRequired\r\n\r\nHigh School degree or GED\r\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\r\n\r\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / DIRECT REPORTS\r\nWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS\r\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\r\nThe employee will frequently be required to\r\n\r\n\r\nSit, stand, walk, alternating up to 8 hours at a time\r\n\r\n\r\nUse both hands for grasping, handling, gripping and feeling textures and temperatures\r\n\r\n\r\nLift and/or move up to 35 lbs\r\n\r\n\r\nThe employee will occasionally be required to\r\n\r\n\r\nBalance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb\r\n\r\n\r\nBend, twist at waist level, reach at and/or above shoulder level and below waist level\r\n\r\n\r\nPush, pull, lift, and/or carry items weighing less than 50 pounds\r\n\r\n\r\nThe position requires the following vision and hearing capabilities\r\n\r\nVision at near, mid and far range and peripheral vision and depth perception\r\nTalking and hearing in person, on a radio, and/or in group settings\r\nDesktop computer\r\nHand tools\r\nOverhead floor remoted cranes\r\n\r\nThe employee will be required to use the following machines or tools\r\nThe employee will work in the following conditions\r\n\r\nExtreme heat and extreme cold\r\nAround equipment in motion\r\nAmid noise\r\nWhile wearing personal protective / safety equipment to prevent injury from noise and environmental hazards\r\nAround moving trucks and industrial mobile equipment\r\n\r\nPOSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS\r\n\r\nPosition is full time, nonexempt and is eligible for overtime.\r\n\r\nOTHER DUTIES\r\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee for this job.
