As an Electrical Engineer – Buildings & Construction, you will work shoulder to shoulder with our construction, operations and maintenance teams to develop and maintain electrical systems in buildings that support over 8,000 employee owners achieve our mission of making electric power safer, more reliable and more economical.\n\nA typical day as an Electrical Engineer – Buildings & Construction might include:\n\nDevelop and maintain technical expertise in the design of building electrical systems, NFPA, state, and local code compliance\n\nPerform various studies such as electrical loads, electrical distribution coordination, energy conservation, and lighting\n\nSet direction and provide overall guidance on the execution of projects, including scoping, planning, estimating, and risk management\n\nConsult with SEL EH&S teams for electrical safety compliance and procedure\n\nConsult with the facilities maintenance teams for trouble shooting facility equipment\n\nThis job might be for you if:\n\nB.S. in Electrical Engineering\n\nProfessional Engineer license (ability to get WA and/or ID license within 6 months)\n\nFive years managing building construction or improvement projects or related field\n\nGood working knowledge of all codes relating to commercial and industrial buildings\n\nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and scheduling software\n\nExcellent technical training skills\n\nIt is a plus if you have:\n\nExperience working with inspection and permitting authorities\n\nGood knowledge of system protection, integration and automation applications\n\nCommissioning certification\n\nAbout Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories:\n\nSEL designs, manufactures, and supports products and systems that protect, monitor, control, and automate electric power systems.
