Family Nurse Practitioner

QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of accredited school of nursing, currently registered in New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse. Masters degree in Family Practice or Adult Medicine Nursing with current certification as a Family Practice or Adult Medicine Nurse Practitioner and prescriptive privileges as outlined by New York State laws. One to three years experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary or acute care setting is also required. Clinical knowledge and experience in managing care of the substance abusing population is preferred. Bi-lingual in Spanish/English preferred. POSITION SUMMARY: Utilizes specialized knowledge and skills in performing Family Practice or Adult Medicine health assessments, prescribing treatment modalities, establishing plans of care and promoting the continuum of care with other health care providers. May write prescriptions for medications without the co-signature of a physician, utilizing her/his own NYS license and DEA number.
