The Process Engineer will lead both day to day, short-term initiatives as well as long-term efforts to drive continuous improvement in the areas of process safety, operational capability, cost control, and overall manufacturing efficiencies.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nActively participates and provides leadership for all site safety programs\nProvides technical support and input to maintain, improve, and advance the site Process Safety Management program\nLeads and supports Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements at the site\nUses Management of Change (MOC) to control and manage proposed process changes\nParticipates in required Process Hazard Analysis (PHA’s)\nSupports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System\nLeads and documents operational incident investigations, including presentation of results\nAssists in the design, procurement, and installation of new equipment\nDevelops site operating procedures and participates in Operator training\nUses statistical techniques to evaluate and improve process capabilities\nProvides technical support and engineering expertise to resolve operational problems\nManage technical vendor/supplier relationships and performance\nInvestigates new technologies and equipment modifications to improve safety, environmental compliance, reliability, and operational efficiency\nSupports and participates in site community outreach opportunities\n\nBasic Qualifications (Required)\nAccredited Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering\n8+ years of work experience in the chemical manufacturing industry\nDemonstrated process troubleshooting and complex problem-solving skills\nEffective written, listening, and verbal communication skillset\nAbility to clearly communicate with leadership, employees, contractors, vendors, and customers\nAbility to lead and contribute as part of cross functional teams\nDesire to learn, accept new challenges, and willingness to grow and advance within the company\nAbility to work independently or cooperatively to deliver required results\nExhibit initiative to identify and complete tasks necessary to support site operations\nUnderstanding of Federal and State EPA, OSHA, PSM, EHS and DOT regulations\nKnowledge of standard chemical industry permitting processes\nUnderstanding and experience in the use and application of statistical process control\nProficient with the use of Microsoft Office product suite\nAbility to, on a non-routine basis, work weekends, holidays and respond to emergency callouts\nExcellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills\nEffective critical thinking and problem-solving skills\n\nNice to Haves\n10+ years of relevant work experience\nExperience with Emerson DeltaV process control platform – configuration and loop tuning\nExperience with greenfield site commissioning/startup activities\nIndustry experience and familiarity in the handling of flammable materials\nExperience with predictive and preventative maintenance programs\nExperience with plant level project management\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
