NO experience needed, we will train you!\n\nHighlights\n\nWaltham location\n\nPaid time off includes ample sick time and 22 days of vacation, in addition to national and some Jewish holidays\n\nImmediate eligibility for dental, vision, retirement plan; no wiating period\nMedical insurance coverage is effective the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment\n\nResponsibilities of the Day Program Instructor/Coordinator\n\nLead group sessions with participants teaching life, hobby, recreational, and communication skills\n\nWork with participants to volunteer, exercise, and do other fun activities in the community\n\nSupport personal development, social skills, and communication\n\nLearn and apply redirection, conflict resolution, and verbal de-escalation methods, when needed\n\nManage a caseload of about 6 participants, including maintaining professional communication with families/guardians and developing participant goals and documentation\n\nRequirements of the Day Program Instructor/Coordinator\n\nPositive and enthusiastic about working with adults with disabilities\n\nHigh energy, flexible, and adaptable when things change\n\nExcellent communication skills- a clear communicator able to write daily notes and goal progress summaries\n\nExcellent leadership skills- a role model for participants learning coping and interpersonal skills\n\nExcellent teamwork skills- a collaborative colleague and team player able to learn from their colleagues\n\nWillingness to learn teaching skills\n\nA valid driver's license, several years' safe driving experience, and a reliable, insured vehicle (most transportation will take place in program-owned vehicles)\n\nMore about CHAI Works Day Program\nOur CHAI Works Day Program fosters community, understanding, and personal fulfillment in individuals with disabilities to help them lead productive and integrated lives in their communities and increase their feelings of self-worth and confidence.
