Since they are the primary point of customer contact, it is up to them to provide our customers an excellent experience by providing fast, friendly and efficient service and by delivering a quality and consistent product every time, in a clean and inviting environment.\r\nFOCUS\r\nEssential\r\nDemonstrate and reinforce Company's Behaviors and Values- Great Food, Good Vibes, Achievement, Innovation, Integrity, Teamwork, Community and Belonging\r\nFamiliarity with the Potbelly brand and its products\r\nPrepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, etc.) efficiently per Company recipe manual standards.\r\nComply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety of shop.\r\nMaintain personal hygiene standards, including wearing clean Company uniform.\r\nComply with established food safety requirements and practices.\r\nComply with shop security and safety standards.\r\nBe speedy and accurate in fulfilling orders.\r\nHandle raw and finished waste according to established procedures.\r\nDelight customers\r\nEngage in friendly conversation with customers in line.\r\nAct with a sense of urgency toward all customers in shop.\r\nOther Key Functions\r\nRestock food line, chips and cooler.\r\nWork multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed by Manager or Shift Leader\r\nDeliver catering orders as detailed in the Catering Driver and Delivery Agreement.\r\nPrepare meats and cheeses for different sandwiches.\r\nIf 18 or older, uses and cleans the automatic slicer & manual chicken slicer to prep food items.\r\nClean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.\r\nOperate cash register: handle, balance and follow all cash handling procedures.\r\nEffectively handle customer complaints/issues.\r\nTake delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.\r\nOthers duties as assigned.\r\nPHYSICAL FUNCTIONS\r\nAbility to stand/walk a minimum of 5 hours or as needed.\r\nMust be able to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 3 hours or as needed.\r\nBe able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.\r\nWill frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data.\r\nAble to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors (95%) and outdoors (5%).\r\nMust be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music, customer and employee traffic.\r\nMust be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.\r\nEXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND BEHAVIORS\r\nMust represent Company Values.\r\nMust be at least 16 years of age\r\nFor Illinois employees, all employees are required to become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.
