Involves bending, stooping and twisting while securing belts and straps to ensure the patron and vehicle is tied down in a manner that ensures a safe ride (Ability to push pull wheelchair patrons).\r\nOperate two-way bus radio system in accordance with the GoDurham established policies and procedures and the Federal Communication Commission (FCC).\r\nAnnounce major streets, stops and destinations per ADA regulations.\r\nAdhere to the uniform application of the Labor Agreement, Performance Code, Safety Procedures and Operational Bulletins.\r\nRequires prolong sitting while driving/operating transit bus. Includes reaching above head to adjust mirrors and destination signs during pre-trip inspections.\r\nRequirements:\r\nDriver's history report from Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), documenting driving record for past three to five years.\r\nMust be at least 18 years of age. Five years of experience in the operation of a motor vehicle preferred.\r\nEffective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization and the general public.\r\nComprehensive knowledge of GoDurham policies.\r\nAbility to problem-solve under stressful conditions and tight timelines.\r\nAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse population.\r\nAbility to effectively manage and resolve customer conflicts.\r\nAbility to work in a \"Team\" focused environment and assist other \"Team\" members achieve their objectives.\r\nSafely operate transit buses of varying sizes transporting customers within routes established by the Public Transit System in accordance with applicable Transit Management work rules, policies, and procedures. Includes adherence to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and other state and local traffic laws.
