Perform various functions within the yard, support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers to ensure trailers arrive and depart on time with zero defects. Be professionally trained to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non‐public roads or in yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations. Learn Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and comply with company policies concerning size, weight, route designations, parking, trailer designations, violation and incident reporting, break periods, and other DOT requirements. Complete driver vehicle inspection reports on equipment and notify managers of any maintenance or delivery issues encountered. Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks in compliance with Amazon policy and federal/state regulations, and drive in accordance with weather/road conditions. Support the business on an as‐needed basis by serving as a peer trainer and/or working at nearby site locations. Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment such as a pallet jack. When required, obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Driver Qualification File (DQF) and comply with DOT regulations for over‐the‐road driving. Work 40 hours per week, with overtime as required. Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays. Preferred Qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences. Experience building strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and outside vendors. Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Completion of Career Choice Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Course. Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications. The starting pay for this position is listed below including the base pay rate and the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, you are eligible for additional earnings including overtime pay and performance bonuses. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
