Starfire teachers facilitate interactive, hands-on, project-based learning through problem-solving for groups of 6-8 students. An excellent part-time opportunity for retired teachers, graduate students, and industry professionals in STEM fields.\nLogistics\n***ONLY ACCEPTING CANDIDATES LOCAL TO THE BAY AREA***\nAfter-school enrichment classes are held on elementary and middle school campuses immediately after-school ends for the day. Classes start between 1:00 pm and 3:10 pm M-F and last 1.25 hours. A class meets once a week, for a period of 8-15 weeks depending on the school calendar. Due to scheduling logistics and restrictions it usually isn't possible to teach more than one class per day.\nCompensation\nCompensation depends on skills, experience and commute distance. The hourly range is between $46-$52/hour. Teachers are paid by the length of the class. Class preparation is included in the hourly rate.\nBenefits\nWe know your time as a STEAM educator is valuable. As an employee benefit, we offer a commute allowance to teachers who cross a bridge, or have a longer commute to a school. We have a training program, including individual personal support to assist teachers in being successful in the classroom.\nPerformance Bonuses:\nComplete training before first class: $50-100 based on quality of submissions.
