Join us.Position TitleEmbedded CAN Software DeveloperLocationFairfax, VAWork ArrangementHybridPosition SummaryWe are looking for a motivated and skilled Embedded Software Engineer team member who will be responsible for working with a cross‐disciplinary team of engineers developing and maturing our rapidly growing family of counter drone technologies. This role will involve designing, developing, testing, and maintaining firmware and low‐level software for embedded systems. It will work in a software development and manufacturing environment where projects are realized with the highest degree of commitment to quality and efficiency.Required Skills and QualificationsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAdaptable, eager to learn and create, with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvementAbility to work in a small team to rapidly prototype and develop new products3–5 years relevant experience working with embedded softwareUnderstanding of embedded system architecturesExperience with Jira, Git and continuous integration toolsProficient with C/C++, Python, and firmware build and debug toolsPreferred Skills and QualificationsUnderstanding of serial data protocols (RS‐232/485/422, I2C, SPI, CAN)Familiarity with hardware debugging tools (JTAG/SWD debuggers)Understanding of automated build environments along with automated test and deploymentComfortable using standard lab tools and equipment such as measurement instruments, diagnostic tools, and basic assembly equipment; e.g., oscilloscope, soldering iron, etc.Experience with embedded Linux (device trees, kernel modules, build systems like Yocto)Use of application containers (Docker, rkt, podman)EducationBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent time and experience in industry.Travel RequiredNoneWorking ConditionsThe diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, such as a general office environment, to warehouse and other facilities.Physical DemandsMust have the ability to stoop, stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.Involves movement between departments, floors, and work sites to facilitate work.Work Authorization RequirementCandidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full‐time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.Salary$107,800 - $152,300. Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high‐demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus.
