Design EngineerAlpharetta, GAJob Description:The main function of this role is to assist Customer-Switchgear production engineers with creating, editing, publishing project drawing packages for manufacturing and asbuilt statuses. Assist with the development or EPLAN software.Job Responsibilities:• Modify existing project drawings and project databases to make changes.• Review project requests concerning technical electrical controls design and implantation of electrical controls hardware.• Work Part of a team to develop EPLAN CAD software. Building libraries, templates, circuits, databases etc…• Assist with training documentation and training for rest of the team concerning EPLAN.Skills:• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.• Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time. Work on multiple projects in various stages.• Basic knowledge of the full EPLAN software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery of EPLAN.• Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve any issues.• Mid-level knowledge of electronic controls equipment in schematic and physical layouts to apply in CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN).• Knowledge of CAD software across multiple platforms.• Troubleshoot Electrical design for QC Control.• Basic understanding of IEEE, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, UL certifications and how the apply to electrical controls in Panels and switchgear.• Previous Power Distribution, and/or Electrical Control Systems background is preferred.Education/Experience:• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required.• 2-4 years experience required.Technical Skills (Required) Electrical Controls, CAD Software Development (more than just a user).MS Access Database, EPLAN, Autodesk Autocad Electrical, AUTOLISP
