Forensic Accountant
Salary Range: $90k to $150kRole Description This full-time, remote Forensic Accountant role is responsible for analyzing financial records related to construction projects and disputes. The Forensic Accountant will review and reconcile financial statements, project cost reports, change orders, and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies, quantify damages, and assess financial risk. Daily work includes performing forensic analyses, preparing business valuation and loss calculations, and supporting the development of expert reports and presentations for clients, counsel, and courts. The role collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and legal teams to gather evidence, interpret complex financial data, and communicate findings in clear, concise formats. The Forensic Accountant may also support litigation by preparing exhibits, organizing documentation, and participating in meetings or briefings with internal and external stakeholders.Qualifications Strong forensic capabilities, including Forensic Accounting and Forensic Analysis skills, with the ability to investigate, interpret, and document complex financial activity.Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting Financial Statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and project cost reports.Advanced Analytical Skills, with experience identifying trends, anomalies, and root causes within large data sets and construction-related financial records.Experience in Business Valuation, damage quantification, or economic loss analysis in a litigation or dispute resolution context is highly beneficial.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CFF, CFA, or similar certification preferred.Familiarity with construction industry finance, project accounting, or claims analysis is an advantage.Proficiency with spreadsheet and financial analysis tools (e.g., Excel, data analytics software) and strong documentation skills.Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to non-financial stakeholders.Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain high standards of accuracy and integrity.
