Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space Mission Systems is seeking Command and Data Handling/Networking Subsystem Engineers (Level 2, 3, or 4) to develop and manage C&DHN Subsystems for Boeing secured autonomous satellite network systems in El Segundo, CA.\nSubstitution of C&DHN Subsystem engineering assignments include requirements definition and flow down, systems design and analysis, systems integration, test, and verification. You will resolve technical issues and ensure hardware and software are flight‑worthy prior to delivery. Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams is crucial. You will work with management and experts across multiple disciplines including GNC subsystem engineering, software engineering, Communications Security (COMSEC) design, Transmission Security (TRANSEC) design, electronic hardware design & test, spacecraft integration, and end‑to‑end system engineering. Foundational knowledge of networking principles including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network protocols relevant to aerospace systems. Some familiarity with system modeling and simulation tools, including Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo) will be a plus.\nResponsibilities Gather, define, and document system level requirements to support flight control and mission or trajectory requirements definition\nProvide technical, cost, and schedule status to program and function\nParticipate and support with cost and schedule reduction initiatives\nDevelop and maintain comprehensive subsystem specifications and unit specs with REA support\nWork on subsystem‑to‑subsystem interface requirements and C&DHN subsystem hardware\nSubcontract/Contract Data Requirements List (SDRLs/CDRLs)\nCreate and release subsystem level analyses such as traffic analysis, TM accuracy, sampling, command pacing\nPerform Subsystem Architecture (including Block Diagram) and technology insertion (including COMSEC Roadmap)\nAssure COMSEC implementation and CNSSP-12 compliance including cybersecurity and information assurance\nPrepare and present C&DHN subsystem design reviews (PDR, CDR, etc.) for customer and Program SEIT interface\nInput to Spacecraft Database, FSW, and Flight ROPs\nDefine and maintain satellite C&DHN process writings (DMS guides)\nBasic Qualifications Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non‑US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement\nFoundational knowledge of networking principles including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network protocols relevant to aerospace systems\nWilling to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally\nPreferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Software, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering\nExperience developing solutions to complex technical problems\nExperience working with CCSDS and IP (Internet Protocol)\nExperience working with MIL‑STD‑1553, SpaceWire, CAN, LVDS or Ethernet\nExperience in MATLAB, Python, and VBA\nStrong understanding of network engineering concepts including network architecture design, network security, and network troubleshooting\nExperience with network simulation and analysis tools\nFamiliarity with satellite communication network and protocols\nKnowledge of cybersecurity best practices for networked embedded systems\nBasic understanding of Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools to support system design, analysis, and verification is a plus\nEducation & Experience Levels Associate, Level 2: Typically 2 or more years related work experience or equivalent. Level 3: Typically 5 or more years related work experience. Lead, Level 4: Typically 9 or more years related work experience.\nRelocation This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
