We are actively seeking a Telecommunications Underground Foreman to work in the San Antonio, TX location.\n\nPay Rate: $24 - $29 per hour depending on experience\n\nGridSource, is seeking a Telecommunications Underground Foreman who will be responsible for safe operation & oversight of micro trenchers, excavators, hydro-vacs, and other construction endeavors by Gridsource. The responsibilities include but are not limited to understanding elevation changes and making informed decisions to avoid hitting underground utilities.\n\nAs a Telecommunications Underground Foreman, you will be responsible for supervising and directing field crews executing micro trenching and underground telecommunications projects. You will ensure your team operates safely, meets production and quality expectations, adheres to design and safety standards, and contributes to the overall success of each project. Foremen in this role serve as on-site leaders, mentors, and primary points of contact for field execution challenges.\n\nRole responsibilities:\nCoordinate and support the execution of telecommunications construction projects.\nSupervise, lead, and mentor field crews working on underground and micro trenching projects.\nSet daily goals, communicate priorities, and ensure crews meet production and project deadlines.\nRead, interpret and enforce job prints, plans, and construction drawings.\nAssist with pre-task planning, job setup, and completion of job setup tasks including traffic control and locating utilities.\nEnforce strict adherence to all safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA regulations.\nConduct daily pre-task briefings and toolbox talks to promote a safety-first culture.\nIdentify, report, and mitigate safety hazards promptly.\nMaintain high quality work standards and ensure all activities align with customer design specifications.\nPerform quality checks of completed work, trenching operations, backfill, and materials handling.\nEnsure crews are maximizing productivity while minimizing rework and delays.\nSafely operate micro trenching equipment (e.g., Ditch Witch, Vermeer saws), vac trucks, and other specialty tools.\nMonitor equipment uses, perform basic troubleshooting, and report maintenance needs.\nAccurately complete daily production logs, safety records, and time tracking.\nCollect field data necessary for project reporting, and as-builts\nCommunicate effectively with project managers, developers, subcontractors, customers, and internal teams.\nAddress on-site customer inquiries professionally and proactively.\nRequirements:\nMinimum 2–5 years of underground telecommunications construction experience, with leadership/foreman experience preferred.\nPractical experience with micro trenching equipment and methods, iAbility to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.\nStrong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.\nValid driver’s license.\nStrong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.\nAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders.\nDetail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in documentation and reporting.\nKnowledge of telecommunications industry standards and best practices.\nWe offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes\nPay Weekly\nHealth, Vision, & Dental Insurance\nPaid Time Off (PTO)\n401k Plan\nPaid sick leave in accordance with any applicable state or municipal laws\nWhy Work for GridSource & its family of companies?\nAt GridSource, our team of dedicated professionals is committed to delivering excellence and providing top-tier service.
