The Project Engineer II will provide technical support during the detailed engineering & construction stage of projects, be involved in all aspects of projects, and is expected to travel once a week on average.\n\nLocation\nLocation\nThis role supports projects in California and requires a hybrid presence at one of our offices (Mountain View, CA; San Diego, CA; Los Angeles, CA; or New York, NY).\n\nResponsibilities\n\nDesign and engineer commercial and small utility‑scale solar PV projects\n\nCommunicate with utilities on an ongoing basis\n\nStay up-to-date on code and policy changes that impact system design\n\nCoordinate cadence with customers during design and construction phases\n\nCoordinate design packages with engineering firms\n\nCoordinate with vendors and lead procurement of materials\n\nPerform inspections during the installation process\n\nOversee commissioning process\n\nAssist in project close‑out with utilities\n\nPerform production analysis for PV systems\n\nAssist the Business Development team with pre‑contract due diligence\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil or Electrical preferred) or related major\n\n2–3 years of experience\n\nExcellent communication and organizational skills\n\nDetail‑oriented and strong analytical skills\n\nProficient in Helioscope, AutoCAD, PVSyst, and Excel\n\nUnderstanding of permitting & interconnection processes\n\nBasic understanding of financial modeling and incentive programs\n\nExperience with Procore and Salesforce is a plus\n\nComputer skills: Salesforce, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, CRM, and Smartsheet\n\nAbility to work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver quality results on time while managing multiple projects\n\nPlan and organize tasks to consistently produce results with minimal supervision\n\nAcute attention to detail\n\nStrong organizational skills\n\nCommitment to excellence and high standards\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\n\nAbility to work effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels\n\nAbility to resolve conflicts internally and externally\n\nCompensation\nThe pay range for this position is $88,560 – $108,240 annually. The position is eligible for PowerFlex's comprehensive Health and Welfare plans, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off. Total compensation may include an annual performance bonus or other incentive compensation.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nRemaining in a seated position, long hours on computer keyboard, prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
