This individual will play a key role throughout all project phases, from feasibility studies and conceptual design through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, qualification, and operational support.\nThe Senior Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, equipment vendors, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders to deliver innovative, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.\n\nLead the design and engineering of HVAC, mechanical utility, and building systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotechnology, laboratory, and food processing facilities.\nDevelop mechanical system concepts and engineering solutions that align with client operational requirements, regulatory expectations, schedule objectives, and budget constraints.\nServe as Mechanical Discipline Lead on projects of varying size and complexity.\nProvide technical direction and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers and designers.\nPerform and review engineering calculations, equipment selections, and system analyses.\nEnsure designs meet applicable industry codes, standards, and client-specific requirements.\n\nLead mechanical engineering activities during feasibility studies, master planning, conceptual design, detailed design, construction documentation, and construction administration.\nCoordinate closely with process, architectural, structural, electrical, controls, commissioning, and construction teams.\nDevelop project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and deliverable requirements.\nParticipate in design reviews, constructability reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering exercises.\nReview technical submittals, respond to RFIs, and provide engineering support during construction.\nConduct field investigations, site assessments, startup activities, and troubleshooting of existing systems.\nDesign and support systems serving GMP manufacturing environments, including cleanrooms, laboratories, production suites, utility plants, and warehouse facilities.\nDevelop HVAC strategies supporting environmental control, pressure cascades, contamination control, and product protection.\nDesign mechanical utility systems including chilled water, heating hot water, steam, condensate, compressed air, vacuum, and process cooling systems.\nSupport commissioning, qualification, and validation activities associated with regulated pharmaceutical facilities.\nParticipate in risk analyses, HAZOP reviews, and regulatory inspections as required.\nDesign HVAC and utility systems supporting food manufacturing, packaging, cold storage, sanitation, and processing operations.\nDevelop mechanical solutions that support food safety, production reliability, employee comfort, and operational efficiency.\nCoordinate utility systems including refrigeration support, compressed air, steam distribution, hot water generation, and process cooling infrastructure.\nSupport hygienic facility design principles and sanitary equipment integration.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical emphasis.\nMinimum of 12 years of progressive mechanical engineering experience.\nMinimum of 7 years of experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or food processing facility projects.\nStrong experience designing HVAC systems for highly regulated manufacturing environments.\nKnowledge of mechanical utility systems, piping systems, and facility infrastructure.\nDemonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and project execution.\nStrong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.\nAbility to travel as required to client sites and project locations.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n10 years of engineering experience within Life Sciences and Advanced Manufacturing sectors.\nExperience supporting large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, biologics facilities, vaccine production facilities, or cell and gene therapy facilities.\nExperience supporting food and beverage production, packaging, or processing facilities.\nKnowledge of GMP, FDA, ISPE, ASHRAE, NFPA, OSHA, and applicable international standards.\nExperience with cleanroom design and contamination control strategies.\nProficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIMenabled project delivery.\nExperience leading commissioning and qualification efforts.\n\nFor this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
