Project Business Manager (International)

Job description:   About the Role PURPOSE Responsible for overseeing and directing the Project Controls department. The role is crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of projects through effective management of project controls, document management, benchmarking, and technology and Business Systems. The Projects Business Manager will provide strategic direction, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives.   ENTITIES SUPPORTED Business Development & Commercial Technical & Energy Development Australia and International business groups   KEY STAKEHOLDERS Technical & Energy Development Projects in Australia or International business Finance Contracts and Procurement Digital / Information Management   Duties and Responsibilities LEADERSHIP & STRATEGY Develop and implement the strategic vision for the Projects Business group.​ Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.​ Collaborate with senior leadership to align Projects Business with the overall business strategy.​ Ensure connectivity of processes between each regional location. – One team culture and Global mindset   PROJECT CONTROLS  Ensure appropriate project estimating, forecasting, budgeting, and scheduling based on risk and complexity.​ Provide insights on Project performance and risk.​ Monitor portfolio performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.​ Retain internal and external benchmarking to support verification of future developments.​   TECHNOLOGY/BUSINESS SYSTEMS  Lead the integration and optimization of project business systems to enhance project delivery efficiency.​ Stay abreast of technological advancements and implement relevant innovations to support project delivery.​ Ensure connectivity between all core Business System interfaces.​   PORTFOLIO REPORTING  Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of project controls.​ Ensure portfolio reporting that includes insights, status, risks, issues, and resource allocation across all projects. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.​   DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT  Oversee the development and maintenance of comprehensive document management systems.​ Implement best practices for document control and record management for Projects and Operations Skills and Experience SKILLS & BEHAVIORS  15+ years’ experience in business/project controls management activities or project management. Strong understanding of project controls, business systems, document management, and governance frameworks.​ Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.​ Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.​ Proficiency in project management software and tools Excellent Leadership and mentoring skills to support the development of team capability.
