They will be performing PMBC or cell subset isolations, plasma fractionations, serum separations, cell thawing, cell counting and generating whole blood aliquots. Additionally, this role may be responsible for receiving, inventory and processing of nonclinical samples such as whole blood units and/or leukopaks for generation of Accucell line products of cryopreserved cells. In addition to these tasks, this role will provide general support for RNA/DNA extractions and assays such as ELISAs.\nEssential functions of the job include but are not limited to:\nReceive inventory and process fresh biological samples:\nReceive and inventory all incoming fresh biological samples into electronic LIMS database\nPerform cell isolations and/or separate whole blood and body fluids into various components\nPerform cryopreservation of all isolated cells\nPrepare all reagents used in lab\nCreate and perform first key of data collection sheets\nPerform equipment preventive maintenance\nPerform cell thawing and counting\nMiscellaneous:\nOrder and inspect lab supplies\nRespond to freezer alarms in accordance to standard operating procedure\nCarry out other duties/projects as assigned\nQualifications:\nMinimum Required:\nAssociate's degree (Biology, Chemistry or Life Sciences) or equivalent combination of education and experience\nOther Required:\nMust possess basic laboratory skills and be trained in aseptic technique\nRequires good attention to detail, excellent documentation skills and must work well in a group environment\nAbility to lift and carry between 1-15 lbs.; Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. overhead with assistance; frequently required to sit, grasp, and use right/left finger dexterity; May be exposed to a cold freezer environment (Freezer temperatures range between -20ºC -196ºC)\nMust be able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language\nPreferred:\nBachelor's degree (Biology, Chemistry or Life Sciences)\n1-2 years' relevant laboratory experience\nIsolating PBMCs from whole blood or leukopheresis\nPrevious experience with a LIMS\nPrevious experiences with a QMS\nAny data provided as a part of this application will be stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
