Lead Carpenter

Position Summary The Lead Carpenter position combines extensive construction knowledge and skills with a strong leadership skillset. Lead Carpenters can interpret and understand project requirements and lead a team to execute them successfully. . At times, Lead Carpenters may be required to fill Field Operations Leader duties when they are unavailable. Lead Carpenters MUST have a great attitude and be able to communicate effectively with all team members, subcontractors, and clients. Key Responsibilities: Carpentry Perform and oversee carpentry tasks, ensuring high standards of quality. Efficiently manage and anticipate materials and supplies. Assist in achieving a zero punch list job. Be available for after-hours emergency issues. Cover exposed areas during rain to prevent water damage. Communication Communicate any deviations from plans to the Lead Carpenter. Provide regular job progress updates. Engage professionally with clients and participate in production meetings. Accountability Arrive on time (5-10 minutes early) and set up the job site immediately. Accurately enter timesheets, receipts, and job logs daily. Ensure secure storage of equipment. Safety/Maintenance Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Keep tools and equipment in good working order and report issues. Perform basic vehicle maintenance bi-weekly. Other Specific Duties Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications. Measure, cut, and shape materials accurately. Construct and install structures and fixtures. Collaborate with the team and maintain tools in good condition. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines. Qualifications Technical Skills 3-10 years in residential carpentry or related field. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints. Skilled in operating power tools and performing rough and finish carpentry. Ability to address unexpected site conditions effectively. Proficiency with project management software. Knowledge of building codes and construction trades. Ability to drive full-size vehicles with trailers. Organizational and Interpersonal Skills Ability to build trust with clients and follow directions. Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to new workflows. Positive attitude and ability to self-manage and work within a team. Professional appearance and demeanor. Education and Experience High school diploma and minimum 3 years experience preferred. Strong knowledge of construction trades, safety, and building codes. Demonstrated carpentry and communication skills. Basic mathematics skills. Punctuality and Attendance: Consistent on-time arrival and regular attendance. Project Schedule: Projects completed within +/- 5 days of the schedule. Budget Accuracy: Final budgets within +/- 3% of the estimated budget. Client Feedback: Positive feedback on project process and final product.
