We are located in Rock Spring, GA, and operate on 3 shifts with 400 employees. We have three main manufacturing departments, Casting, Machining, and Press Assembly. We are part of Astemo, inc. with 90,000 employees worldwide.\n\nTasks and Responsibilities:\n\nVisual quality check of raw cast aluminum products\nVisual quality check of machined aluminum products\nLoading of raw cast aluminum product into manual CNC machine\nUnloading of machined product from CNC machine\nLoading conveyor with machined aluminum products\nEnd of shift area clean up – or as needed\nMust be able to work where needed in the machining department\nMust be able to support other departments as and when needed\nAssist any line leaders, supervisors, managers in other tasks assigned.\nIf all these tasks are complete you are to report for additional work to the immediate supervisor.\n\nWhen accomplishing tasks, remember to work toward meeting overall company goals established which include, OSHA safety compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Compliance, Ethical & Legal compliance, Customer Quality, Production to Plan, and Delivery Performance.\n\nSafety & Environmental:\n\nPromotes a safety first attitude and provides safe work environment by obtaining knowledge and then following all required OSHA regulations which may or may not include: Personal Protective Equipment, LOTO (lock out tag out), Crane, Powered Lifts, Machine Guarding, Chemicals, Fall Protection, Fire Protection, Incident reporting, Respirator, Hearing conservation, Confined Spaces, and others.\nMaintain work areas to ensure safe and clean working conditions.\nWhen possible correct unsafe work conditions immediately.\n\nQuality:\n\nEnsures the in process and the final product meets customer and Astemo Rock Spring quality specifications.\nFollows work instructions, point cards and communicates defects appropriately and immediately when quality issues occur.\nFollows the STOP, CALL, WAIT procedures\n\nDelivery:\n\nResponsible for completing the planned production quantities as required.\n\nProductivity:\n\nAchieves the planned production quantities as required by:\nCommunicating issues to the line lead or supervisor immediately\nFollowing work instructions\nWorking as a team and promoting teamwork\nPreventing interruptions to work flow and productivity\nSuggesting improvements to productivity, quality, safety etc.\n\nReporting:\n\nReports safety incidents or near misses, issues with equipment or quality concerns, and workflow interruptions.\nReports monthly “Ask Here” to help make Hitachi Astemo Rock Spring better\n\nPreferred Skills:\n\nGood problem-solving abilities\nExcellent communication skills, able to build friendly work relationships\nFamiliar with manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures\n\nMinimum Experienced Preferred:\n\nPreferred 2 years of experience with forklift operations.\n\nKey Metrics Responsibility:\n\nZero Safety Incidents\nZero Customer Quality defects\nZero Late Deliveries\nPerfect Attendance\n\nPhysical Demands:\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use hand to finger; handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
