IT Systems Engineer – Law Firms (Raleigh Area)

Candidates must live within commuting distance of Raleigh, North Carolina and able to travel for onsite work.This role is primarily remote but includes occasional on-site visits to law firm clients in the Raleigh area.About the RoleWe are looking for an IT Systems Engineer who enjoys solving real problems, communicating clearly with clients, and taking ownership of technical issues from start to finish.We are a growing managed services provider focused exclusively on law firms. This role supports Microsoft 365 environments, security systems, and office infrastructure across multiple client environments.Candidates should be comfortable working directly with attorneys and staff, explaining technical issues in plain English, and improving the stability and security of client systems.This position begins as a contract engagement with the potential to grow into a long-term role as our MSP practice expands.What You’ll DoClient Infrastructure SupportSupport and troubleshoot the core systems law firms depend on, including:• Microsoft 365 environments• Identity and access management• Network connectivity and firewall troubleshooting• Wireless networks and office infrastructure• Server and system stabilityMicrosoft 365 AdministrationWork within client tenants to maintain secure and well-managed environments, including:• User and license administration• Email troubleshooting and security configuration• Conditional Access and authentication security• Intune device management for laptops and mobile devices• Microsoft 365 tenant health and best practicesAdvanced TroubleshootingDiagnose and resolve complex technical issues such as:• Network and internet performance problems• Firewall and connectivity issues• Email delivery and authentication problems• VoIP and business phone system troubleshooting• Printer issuesYou will also provide Tier 3 escalation support when issues require deeper investigation.Security and MSP OperationsHelp strengthen security and operational standards across client environments by:• Supporting endpoint protection and security tools• Maintaining monitoring and RMM systems• Identifying opportunities to improve client environments• Supporting security-first practices for law firmsDocumentation and Process ImprovementWe value engineers who leave systems better than they found them.Responsibilities include:• Maintaining clear technical documentation• Improving internal technical standards and playbooks• Ensuring client environments are organized and supportableTeam SupportThis is a collaborative role within a growing MSP practice.
