Assistant Project ManagerCommercial & Industrial Construction | General ContractorLocation: Bethesda, MD Main Office (projects throughout the DMV; occasional travel to North Carolina)Employment Type: Direct Hire (Full‑Time)Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 (annual)Position OverviewWe are seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support commercial and industrial renovation and ground‑up construction projects for a growing general contracting firm. This role supports Project Managers and Superintendents with day‑to‑day project execution, documentation, cost control, and coordination across multiple active job sites.The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience working for a general contractor or large construction firm and has supported vertical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Project Managers with planning, coordination, and execution of renovation and ground‑up construction projectsAssist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentationTrack project schedules, budgets, and cost controls; assist with forecasting and reportingCoordinate with subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal field teamsParticipate in client meetings, site walks, progress meetings, and punch‑list activitiesHelp enforce quality control and safety standards across active job sitesSupport project closeout activities including O&M manuals, as‑builts, and warrantiesRequired QualificationsMinimum 3 years of experience with a general contractor or large construction firmProven experience supporting vertical construction projects (commercial or industrial)Strong understanding of construction documents, means and methods, and project workflowsExperience with project documentation including RFIs, submittals, schedules, and change ordersProficiency with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Office (or similar)Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities across concurrent projectsPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related fieldExperience supporting both renovation and ground‑up constructionFamiliarity with commercial and industrial building systems
