Because of their own life experiences, peers can support others in crises and assist them in recovery so they can remain in their community. The peer support specialist provides outreach and acts as a role model, ally, mentor, planner, advocate, educator, resource connector, and tour guide for clients.2 Positions openRESPONSIBILITIES: The Peer Support Specialist, works under the direction of the Crisis Services Supervisor and supervisory designee to:Communicate with individuals seeking crisis services in respite and the crisis living roomSupport clients by offering them information and hopeReassure clients through active listening and consultationLocate resources and make referrals to community partnersTransport clients as neededPerform light housekeeping dutiesPhysical requirements include the following:Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the timeFrequently communicates with physicians about medical notes, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situationsOccasionally operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printerOccasionally lifts and carries items up to 25 poundsOccasional exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluidsWhat You'll Like About UsCompetitive pay $17.45 - $21.21 Hourly (Dependent on experience, certification and shift)Generous benefits package.
