Accountant

ResponsibilitiesJob Specific Competencies:The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Performing basic accounting procedures, e.g. A/R, A/P, G/L, tax payments and inventory controlPreparing financial statements, e.g. monthly and quarterly financial reportsMonth-end and quarterly closing (divisional income statements, physician productivity statements, and company-wide income statement and balance sheet)Analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts and investment transactions in conjunction with preparing monthly reports for managementAssisting with the annual financial and 401K audits by assisting with the liaison functions of the departmentCommunicating with divisional managers and shareholders regarding any financial statements questionsProducing financial data for management team upon request and assisting with other special accounting projects from time to timeJCMG Core Competencies:Strives for continuous quality improvement.Participates in educational experiences designed to maintain and/or improve professional competence.Maintains high work ethic standards.Provides quality customer service to staff, patients and visitors at all times. Minimum QualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required, or high school diploma and work experience may be substituted for the education requirementExperience:2+ years progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar work environmentCertification/License:None requiredKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Strong organization, oral and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlinesStrong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word as well as experience with accounting software and general ledgersAnalytical skills with particular attention to detailWORK ENVIRONMENTNormal medical office environment. Requires working occasional evening and weekend hours. Occasional stress due to high work volume, deadlines and multiple assignments.
