Provide engineering/technical expertise to solve problems in a specific area of expertise, with close supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop skills in their field of study, and the ability to work with greater independence.\n\nDuties & Responsibilities\nUnder close supervision, in the area of expertise will provide\nengineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems\neffective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities\nthorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches\ncontinuous improvement of job-related, engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance\neffective oral and written communication skills\naccurate records and files\nsupport of the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree from an EAC/ABET accredited Engineering Program OR an approved evaluation of non-ABET credentials by NCEES OR graduation from a Master’s or Doctoral Program in Engineering from an institution with EAC/ABET accredited Undergraduate Engineering Programs.\nUnderstanding of basic engineering theories and principles.\nUnderstanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations.\nAbility to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.\nGood written and oral communication skills.\nUnderstanding of basic electricity and power quality.\nKnowledge of Distribution construction standards and methods.\nEffective oral and written communication skills.\nOther Skills/Abilities\nSelf-Motivated\nWork independently\nTeam-Oriented\nCustomer Oriented\nAble to manage multiple tasks and provide leadership to other team members.\nDesired Qualifications\nReceived a passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam.\nUnderstanding of basic principles of project management\nExperience in the utility industry.\nNOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
