We offer a line of equipment suited to a wide variety of uses, but excel in providing solutions to our customers' specific project needs.\nCORTEC offers a full benefits package that includes: health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with a generous employer match, profit sharing, 10 company paid holidays, and 3 weeks of personal paid time off per year.\nWe are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our facility in Houston, TX.\nJob Summary:\nResponsible for the design, modification, and analysis of CORTEC products, ensuring that they are structurally sound and meet industry specifications.\nEssential Job Functions:\nCreate, check and approve designs, drawings, specifications, etc. of existing or new products. Ensure that assignments meet standards and performance requirements within area of expertise.\nInterpret customer requirements and apply industry and company standards to provide product design and documentation.\nConduct analysis (stress, material, reliability, etc.) to ensure that designs work, make recommendations and develop alternative solutions with conclusions.\nAssist in the evaluation of product failures and recommend corrective actions.\nConsult with other departments on equipment designs and questions. Anticipate potential problems and proactively solve complex problems through creative thinking, using internal and external resources.\nParticipate in design review meetings as part of product verification and validation work.\nWork with manufacturing personnel to effect value engineering practices throughout all phases of the design process.\nEducation/Experience:\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering\n8+ years of experience with choke valves or control valves\nMachine Shop experience preferred\nProficient drafting and 3D modeling skills using SolidWorks\nExperience with FEA and or CFD software is preferred.\nThe work days are Monday through Friday and the hours are 8am to 5pm.
