Thank you for respecting our internal recruiting process.\n\nAssistant Controller\nJob Summary:\nThe Assistant Controller will assist in the day-to-day activities of the accounting department and support the Controller in meeting the daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities of Finance / Accounting.\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nAnalyze income statement and balance sheet movement and prepare daily activity reports.\nOversee Accounts Receivable processing and makes decisions as processing questions arise.\nActs as a back-up to the Accounts Receivable team for the daily cash reconciliation process and interacts with bank account team as needed.\nPrepare and post journal entries for the monthly close.\nPerform and review bank, credit card, general ledger, and balance sheet reconciliations.\nMaintain accurate supporting documentation for accounting transactions.\nAssist with annual financial statement audits and other external audits.\nPrepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.\nAssist with state sales tax filings and related financial information.\nWork with sales team to provide and obtain sales and purchasing data to complete related accounting tasks and reporting.\nMaintain and manage customer rebate programs for sales department.\nPerform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as required from time to time – quite often on short notice.\nMaintain confidentiality of sensitive financial, employee, customer, and company information.\nManagement & People Development:\nInspire the company mission and create a collaborative team culture.\nStrong supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and effectively manage accounting team members\nAssist with training and development of accounting team members.\nRecruit, hire, and retain team members.\nRegularly provide performance feedback to team members to ensure process improvement and continuous learning.\nHold team members accountable to their job duties & code of conduct.\nOther Duties:\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.\nRequired Skills/Abilities:\nExperience working with Oracle ERP/financial systems, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.\nProficiency navigating Oracle to review financial data, perform account reconciliations, research discrepancies, and support accurate and timely financial reporting.\nAdvanced proficiency Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyze financial data and utilize spreadsheets for reporting and accounting functions.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nExcellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.\nExcellent time management and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.\nStrong supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and effectively manage accounting team members.\nAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and delegate responsibilities appropriately.\nAbility to function effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and occasionally stressful environment while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA or CPA-track experience is a plus.\nFive years of prior general accounting or public accounting experience.\nHighly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.\nA team player that understands how to work effectively in a fast paced, evolving organization.\nConduct duties and responsibilities in a moral, honest and ethical manner.\nPhysical Requirements: (In compliance with ADA)\nAbility to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based work.\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the office as needed.\nAbility to use a computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, calculator, and other standard office equipment.\nAbility to frequently perform repetitive hand and wrist movements associated with computer and administrative tasks.\nAbility to occasionally lift and carry office materials, files, or supplies weighing up to 5 pounds.\nAbility to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication.\nAbility to maintain visual concentration and focus when reviewing financial statements, reports, spreadsheets, and other detailed information.\nBENEFITS\nComprehensive Company-Paid Benefits\nStarting the first of the month after your hire date, you'll have access to a range of benefits.
