Hospitality & Housekeeping Team MemberThe Hospitality & Housekeeping Team Member is the staff primarily responsible for cleaning and preparing guest and staff accommodations as well as providing excellent customer service to all guests and staff under the direction of the Hospitality Manager, Assistant Manager, Team Leads, and Camp Management.
Team Member is the front-line staff directly providing:
Serve the needs of our guests and staff in a spirit of Christian hospitality
Work with the host to respond to guest requests and needs
Maintain a clean, efficient and healthy environment for our guests and staff
Clean, turn-over, and prepare cabins, meeting spaces, and restrooms for guest use
Respond to additional requests and needs of staff and management as needed
Additional Functions:
Set-up minor equipment and rooms for guests
Perform minor repair and upkeep on appliances and utilities
Other duties as assigned
Major Competency Areas:
Excellent attitude with guests and co-workers
Good communication skills
Attention to details and high level of cleanliness
Ability to follow instructions and procedures
Strong work ethic with an emphasis on teamwork
Qualifications:
Ability to learn and perform cleaning techniques
Ability to work alone and with others
Valid Driver's License, valid SB County Food handler's card, First Aid/CPR
Must be able to work weekends and have reliable transportation
Agreement with Thousand Pines doctrinal statement and compliance with employee handbook
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Ability to work in inclement weather
Abilities sufficient to carry out the essential functions of the job
Physical abilities to do the following:
Carrying a cleaning supply kit into each cabin
Carrying a vacuum into each cabin
Cleaning toilets
Vacuuming
Sweeping
Mopping
Restocking dispensers in bathrooms and meeting spaces
Doing laundry: washing, drying, folding, and making linen packets
Wiping down bunk beds (upper and lower, may involve climbing ladders)
Lifting mattresses to sweep and remove any trash
Cleaning sinks and mirrors
Cleaning tubs and showers
Clean out drains
Dusting and de-webbing (spiders and cobwebs)
Wiping down walls and doors
Removing trash from rooms (sometimes heavy)
Relining trashcans outside and inside rooms
Picking up trash inside and outside on grounds
Moving furniture to clean underneath (occasionally)
Stacking and set up chairs in meeting rooms
Moving and set up 8 ft. tables in meeting rooms
Transporting food items, coffee urns, water coolers, and food trays, from kitchen to meeting rooms
Locking and unlocking meeting rooms doors and cabin doors
Removing soiled linens from beds
Making beds
Stocking vending machines
Stocking supplies in storage (requires lifting and carrying boxes)
These activities may involve:

At TM Camping we desire to have a distinctly Christian atmosphere and influence. Though campers and attendees come from many Christian and non-Christian backgrounds, all are included in chapel services, prayer, devotions, etc. Ministry team members participate in leading campers, attendees and other staff in these and other Christian activities. In addition, no matter where one works, all staff are expected to live exemplary Christian lives before campers and staff alike.
