Senior Java Microservices Engineer (Azure)Location: Bay Area, CA (San Francisco / Oakland)Work Model: Hybrid – Onsite 2 days per weekInterview Process: In‑person interview requiredAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Microservices Engineer with strong experience building and deploying cloud‑native applications on Microsoft Azure. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in modern, fast‑paced environments and takes ownership of delivering scalable, high‑quality solutions.You will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying enterprise‑grade microservices while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain Java‑based microservices using Java 8+ and Spring BootBuild and consume RESTful APIs following best practicesDevelop and deploy cloud‑native applications on Microsoft AzureWork with Azure App Services, AKS, Azure Storage, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DBImplement containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS)Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOpsEnsure systems are scalable, resilient, secure, and highly availableParticipate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision‑makingRequired QualificationsStrong hands‑on experience with Java (Java 8+), Spring, and Spring BootSolid expertise in Microservices architecture and distributed systemsProven experience deploying applications on Microsoft AzureHands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud‑native developmentStrong understanding of scalability, resilience, performance, and security best practicesExperience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelinesHigh‑caliber engineer with excellent problem‑solving skillsActively leverages AI‑powered developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to:Improve development productivityEnhance code quality and delivery speedAccelerate debugging, design, and documentationComfortable working in outcome‑driven, agile environmentsAdditional Desired SkillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsOwnership mindset with a focus on quality and deliveryExperience building enterprise‑scale, cloud‑native solutions is a plus
