This role is responsible for ensuring all fabricated steel assemblies meet company standards, customer requirements, and industry specifications, while mentoring the team and setting a strong example in safety, quality, and professionalism.\n\nThe Role\n\nThe QC Manager oversees inspection processes, implements quality procedures, and provides leadership to fabricators and shop personnel. Success in this role requires advanced technical knowledge, strong leadership and mentoring skills, and the ability to work independently to maintain the highest quality standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPerform all duties of Fabricator I , ensuring adherence to shop drawings, WPS, and AWS standards\n\nLead QC processes to inspect steel assemblies for compliance with Steel Fabrication Procedures , AISC , and AWS standards\n\nMentor and train fabricators and shop personnel, setting a strong example in quality, safety, and work ethic\n\nDemonstrate leadership by monitoring quality performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions\n\nEnsure all inspections and QC documentation are accurate and up-to-date\n\nUse time efficiently to meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards\n\nWork independently when required while maintaining communication with management\n\nFollow the company code of ethics and employee handbook\n\nPerform all other duties as assigned\n\nSafety & Performance Expectations\n\nSafety-conscious with an incident-free mindset\n\nExcellent attendance and reliability\n\nSets a positive example for others in safety, quality, and professionalism\n\nDemonstrates accountability in inspection processes and team leadership\n\nTechnical Skills & Qualifications\n\nAdvanced knowledge of Fabrication Procedures\n\nStrong ability to apply AISC & AWS standards for inspection\n\nExperience performing QC in steel fabrication, including welding inspection, layout verification, and assembly checks\n\nProven ability to mentor, train, and lead shop personnel\n\nAbility to work independently while maintaining high attention to detail\n\nStrong organizational and communication skills\n\nWhat We Offer\n\nCompetitive hourly pay\n\nLeadership role with responsibility for quality across shop operations\n\nOpportunity to mentor and develop team members\n\nCollaborative, safety-focused work environment\n\nProfessional development opportunities\n\nWork Location\n\nShop-based role, with occasional site visits as required.
