By providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to employees at all levels within the manufacturing facilities, you will be instrumental in the improvement of Silent-Aire’s Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) performance.\n\nHow you will do it\n\nWork with the Director and other Regional EHS Managers to establish corporate EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.\n\nImplementation of the organization’s Environment, Health and Safety Management System(s).\n\nParticipate in annual document reviews with the intent to improve upon existing corporate EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.\n\nTrack and maintain local EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including the publishing of such data for internal stakeholders.\n\nAct as a positive change agent in supporting corporate EHS visions and new initiatives.\n\nManage, coach and mentor a team of local EHS Coaches to help implement the corporate EHS Management System(s) within their location of responsibility.\n\nTrack and advise local leadership on current and proposed changes to applicable federal, provincial/state, or municipal health, safety, and environment legislation to ensure compliance.\n\nManage Workers Compensation claims and accounts within region of responsibility to ensure local reporting requirements are met and claims are managed until closed.\n\nManage Silent-Aire’s EHS tracking system within region of responsibility to ensure inputs and outputs are meeting the organizations requirements.\n\nProvide to local leadership regular updates, reports, and suggestions for improvement on operational EHS issues.\n\nAdvise management and supervisors on regulatory requirements for the control of hazards.\n\nSupport the education and training of employees on health, safety, and environment practices.\n\nLead near-miss and incident investigations as per the organization’s incident management process.\n\nReview hazard and incident reports and hazard reports to identify trends and opportunities that need improvement.\n\nPerform or aid in the completion of external or internal environment, health and safety audits including the development of action plans.\n\nOther tasks and duties as allocated.\n\nWhat we look for\nRequired\n\nBachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science\n\nMinimum of six (6) years of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment\n\nExperience in developing, managing, and auditing EHS management systems, including ISO 45001, 14001, COR Auditor certified\n\nDemonstrated knowledge of Workers Compensation and Return to Work programs\n\nDemonstrated leadership skills and abilities\n\nStrong presentation skills\n\nStrong knowledge in federal, provincial/state, or municipal health, safety, and environment legislation\n\nExcellent problem-solving abilities\n\nProven interpersonal skills\n\nAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and written\n\nComfortable with periodic travel that is required in this role\n\nPreferred\n\nCSP designation or qualified to obtain\n\n#LI-Onsite\n\nJohnson Controls International plc. is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, protected veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a qualified individual with a disability or any other characteristic protected by law.
