US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.\nRequirements 3-5 Years experience with embedded software development related to microcontrollers or similar devices\nProficiency in C\nExperience in C#\nExperience with git\nExperience with software debugging and associated tools\nExperience with hardware debugging at the logical level and associated tools\nExperience with Code Composer Studio and/or MPLAB X and/or Visual Studio\nBasic knowledge of satellite constellations\nBasic testing, troubleshooting, & soldering skills\nKnowledge of embedded software development for hardware is required\nKnowledge of hardware architectures, microcontrollers and communication protocols\nKnowledge of writing test cases, unit testing and validation of hardware software integration\nKnowledge in diagnosing and resolving network-related issues, including network configuration, connectivity, and data transmission problems\nAbility to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing range/field environment with a focus on fielding a product\nAbility to work with others to meet established goals and program schedules\nAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing\nResponsibilities The Firmware Developer will write firmware to run on specified microcontrollers to achieve desired functionality. This functionality can range from making a device more robust to adding user desired functionality to adding support for a new set of hardware (GNSS engine, satellite transceiver, etc.). Updating or writing tools to be able to configure newly updated devices is also expected.\nCoding embedded microcontrollers\nDevelop embedded software for new and existing systems\nWrite firmware to run on specified microcontrollers to achieve desired functionality\nThis functionality can range from making a device more robust to adding user desired functionality to adding support for a new set of hardware (GNSS engine, satellite transceiver, etc.)\nUpdating or writing tools to be able to configure newly updated devices\nSupport testing and assessment of embedded systems locally and at external locations\nUtilize software development best practices within government development processes\nIdentify and incorporate the latest hardware, technology, and techniques in this rapidly evolving environment\nRoutinely collaborate with the government team through regularly scheduled meetings on-site\nPreferred Skills and Experience Excellent communication skills\nEducation Degree in Computer Science, or related Engineering Field\nCompensation Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.\nThe projected annual compensation range for this position is $79,000 - $110,000 (USD).
