They will collaborate closely with other system engineering teams, labs, and technicians to shape the avionics system.\n\nThis role is based in Long Beach, CA and reports to the Demonstrator systems team.\n\nResponsibilities for this role include:\n\nDevelop and review the electrical power generation architecture for the airplane including bus signal reviews, configuration updates, and wiring changes.\n\nDevelop and review the power distribution system architecture for the airplane including bus signal reviews, configuration updates, and wiring changes.\n\nDevelop and review test plans for power generation and distribution, and conduct bench and airplane tests.\n\nElectrical power system parts definition, sourcing and development.\n\nEstablish the requirements database for the Electrical Power System.\n\nWrite design description documents, technical specifications, and SOWs.\n\nDesign the grounding bonding, p-static, lightning strategy definition and development.\n\nWork collaboratively with cross‑functional teams, providing technical leadership and guidance.\n\nWhat You Bring:\n\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or an associated discipline.\n\n10+ years of experience in electrical power design for Part‑25 aircraft.\n\nExperience with supplier oversight.\n\nAbility to analyze technical data, troubleshoot test failures, and drive root‑cause investigations, and document results clearly.\n\nComfort with wearing multiple hats, intellectual curiosity, and strong cross‑functional versatility.\n\nPreferred Skills & Experience:\n\nDirect experience with airplane development programs, especially experimental designs.\n\nKnowledge of FAA/EASA regulations and experimental airworthiness process.\n\nAdvanced power generation, storage, and distribution techniques.\n\nFamiliarity with digital thread approaches (CAD/PLM).\n\nCompensation:\nOur compensation package is a blend of base salary and equity options for eligible employees.
