Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst

The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst supports GCON’s commitment to operational excellence and data-driven decision-making by developing and maintaining dashboards, metrics, and reporting solutions that provide clear, trusted insights across the organization. This role is responsible for building and validating dashboards, supporting data quality and metric consistency, assisting with ETL workflows, and documenting reporting processes to ensure accuracy, transparency, and scalability.
In alignment with GCON’s core values, the BI Analyst approaches reporting with integrity, accountability, and a service-oriented mindset—ensuring stakeholders have reliable information they can confidently use to guide business decisions. The BI Analyst partners closely with the Analytics Engineer and collaborates across Finance, Operations, and Project teams to understand needs and continuously improve analytics workflows that support the success of teams in the field and the office.
Responsibilities:
Business Intelligence & Dashboard Development
Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports in Domo
Support incoming dashboard and reporting requests from business stakeholders
Apply best practices for dashboard usability, performance, and consistency
Assist with testing and validation of dashboards prior to release or updates
Metrics & Data Modeling Support
Assist in building standardized metrics and calculations using SQL, Beast Modes, and ETL logic
Support data preparation and transformations using BI tooling and ETL workflows (e.g., Magic ETL)
Help ensure metric definitions are consistently applied across reports and dashboards
Data Validation & Quality Support
Perform data validation and quality checks across dashboards, datasets, and metrics
Identify data inconsistencies, anomalies, and gaps; assist with root-cause analysis
Ensure reported metrics align with documented business logic
Documentation & Change Control
Document dashboards, metrics, data sources, and reporting processes
Maintain metric definitions and data logic documentation
Track changes to dashboards and metrics to support transparency and controlled updates
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
Partner with Analytics, Finance, Operations, and Project teams to understand reporting needs
Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding data definitions, limitations, and updates
Work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively across teams
Skills / Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Information Systems, Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
1–2 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, reporting, or a data-related role
Hands-on experience with a BI or data visualization tool (Domo preferred; Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar tools acceptable)
Working knowledge of SQL (required)
Strong attention to detail and focus on data accuracy
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Experience supporting analytics or reporting in a construction or project-based environment
Experience with CMiC or similar ERP systems
Experience with Domo (dashboards, Beast Modes, Magic ETL)
Exposure to Python for data analysis or automation
Familiarity with documentation practices and basic change control

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
