Refrigeration Technician – JLLWhat this job involves:As a Refrigeration Technician at JLL, you'll serve as a critical member of our facilities maintenance team, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of HVAC and refrigeration systems at our client sites. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with proactive maintenance planning to minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational efficiency. This position offers opportunities for technical growth, collaborative problem-solving, and the chance to mentor team members while maintaining critical building systems that keep our clients' operations running smoothly.What your day-to-day will look like:Manage and complete assigned work orders within established timeframes using the Corrigo CMMS, performing preventative and repair maintenance on all HVAC and refrigeration equipment with a professional and safe approachTroubleshoot equipment using systematic techniques to identify problems and complete repairs promptly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous facility operationsGenerate work orders for defects discovered during inspections and preventative maintenance, while identifying and sourcing necessary parts and recommending improvements to spare parts inventoryDirect and advise BAS Console Operators daily on operational issues, reviewing error logs to identify abnormal conditions and ensure efficient site performanceProvide technical support and coordination to co-workers, contractors, vendors, project managers, and building engineers to support project and renovation work while maintaining established quality standardsDeliver training to team members on HVACR tasks, assist other trades during peak periods, and maintain accurate records including LOTO procedures, refrigerant transactions, and work order documentationIdentify and recommend improvements to the preventative maintenance program based on equipment performance trends and operational observationsRequired Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working with HVAC or refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settingsJourney Refrigeration Mechanic License or Refrigeration Operating Engineer License (SDIC)Universal HVAC EPA 608 Certification (required for refrigerant handling)HVAC/Refrigeration technical or vocational school completion, or associate degree in related fieldProficiency with CMMS work order systems (Corrigo preferred), equipment history tracking, and parts/material inventory managementDemonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, written work orders, sketches, and technical manualsStrong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with ability to work independently and collaborativelyPreferred Qualifications:Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and understanding of console operations and error log interpretationFamiliarity with diverse building equipment including air handlers, chillers, air compressors, liquid handling pump systems, vacuum pumps, fume hoods, and commercial refrigeratorsPrevious experience training or mentoring technical team membersTrack record of contributing to maintenance program improvements and operational efficiency initiativesExperience working in multi-trade environments and supporting cross-functional project teamsLocation: OnsiteWork Shift: 10 hours/day, Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM); on-call availability and overtime as neededPhysical Requirements: May require prolonged standing, walking, repeated bending, squatting, stooping, and working in uncomfortable positions. Work often performed on ladders or scaffolding.
