This role is focused on designing and developing scalable, secure APIs and event-driven applications that enable modern digital experience and enterprise integration. You’ll work in a highly collaborative Agile environment where the teams operate in sprints, partner closely with product and business stakeholders, and continuously deliver innovative solutions. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.\nWhat you'll do:\nDesign, develop, code, and test complex technical solutions.\nInvestigate and resolve complex application and system technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting techniques.\nContinually improve operations by conducting complex systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.\nPrepare and install complex solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.\nFollow the software development lifecycle.\nParticipate in design reviews and learns key system design principles.\nMentor junior engineers and may begin mentoring peer engineers; Review teammates' code.\nEnsure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.\nWhat you have:\nBachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience; and\n4+ years of professional software development experience using Java\n3+ years of experience developing REST-based services with a strong emphasis on API development.\nExperience building APIs using Spring Boot.\nExperience developing applications using event-driven frameworks and messaging frameworks such as Kafka.\nExperience implementing container-based APIs using OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes.\nExperience working on Agile teams that deliver software in sprint-based development cycles.\nWhat sets you apart:\nFinancial services, insurance, banking, or other highly regulated industry experience.\nExperience with cloud-native application development and modernization initiatives.\nExperience mentoring junior developers.\nExperience with JavaScript and modern front-end development concepts.\nUS military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner\nCompensation range: The salary range for this position is: $93,770 - $179,240.\nUSAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
